In honor of the fine work I Know Somebody Houston is doing to pair mentors and mentees we have created a special collaboration. Join Host, Teresa Maron, for the Women’s Wisdom Circle, sponsored by IKSH.
Our goal for the show today is to share the story of a non-profit with a big heart on a huge mission. Sparrow’s Voice is working hard to create programs and find sponsors for young adults and kids in South Africa, and the USA.
Our special guest is Kisty Marie, Founder of Sparrows Voice, Kisty tells the inspiring story of how she discovered her work of teaching the principles of heart-centered leadership and holistic healing to low-income youth, and how working with HIV orphans, conquering an addiction, a near-death experience, and an orphan named Nonny taught her about purpose, connection, and the true meaning of life.
This is particularly timely for the women of I Know Somebody Houston, as they have committed to offering a mentor/mentee program for their members. Led by Elizabeth Pudwill, their program serves as a conduit for smart and savvy business women to share inspiration, knowledge and action steps for new business owners.
Congratulations to members Ashley Small, Sharon Lee Zapata, Naomi Hardy and Sharon Jenkins for stepping into these roles.

What are we doing?
Sparrow’s Voice offers kids an opportunity to shine – regardless of life circumstances. We are empowering kids and families alike through workshops, individual training and continuous support from our awesome team. This is where you come in. We can’t do this without you!
If you could see the absolute joy in a child’s face when they find out they have a sponsor and can attend a leadership workshop – you would be deeply affected. So many kids get turned away and it is just one more thing they cannot participate in. WE can CHANGE this! Let’s get as many kids as possible involved in Leadership/Empowerment workshops! Sparrows Voice is going into shack towns / orphanages and organizations and we are offering kids an opportunity to see the world through a new lens.
Today’s Wisdom Quotes
Women’s Wisdom Circle is a monthly podcast that serves as a soul sanctuary. We invite women to be who they are without needing to change or fix themselves or anyone else in the circle. We gather for deep listening, creative reflection and authentic soul-sharing. We begin by exploring a wisdom quote and go where the Spirit leads.
The Circle is a place to honor our flowering alongside our brokenness and our gathering feels new and ancient at the same time. The Wisdom of the Circle is the Circle itself.
A mentor empowers a person to see a possible future and believe it can be obtained. ~ Shawn Hitchcock
A person is a person through other persons ~ Archbishop Desmond Tutu (African principal of Ubuntu.)
