With the New Year, we start to think of New Year’s Resolutions. It’s a great time to start new! This is the best time to write out your goals and get them started. First, think about what you want your goals to be- personal and professional. Is there a way you want to think and feel this year? Maybe you want to be more easy going to stress free. Do you want any changes for this year? Look at your health, your relationship, your home, finances, and spirituality – are these where you want them to be? If not, it’s time to get them back on track. Do you want to lose weight and be healthier? With relationships – do you want to be closer to your parents or kids? With your house – are there things that need to be fixed that you have been putting off or do you want to work on decorating? Where do you want to be spiritually? Also, think about your professional goals – do you want to be in a higher position? Really think about these things. Pick 3 or 4 that you want to concentrate on.
Break your goals into workable steps
Once you have your goals, think about how you will approach them. Decide where you are today and where you want to be. You have to think about it in steps. Break your goals down to make them achievable. A top goal is to lose weight and be healthy. I know this is a personal goal of mine. I am going to make this achievable by joining the Weight Watcher meetings and make sure that I am getting in my workouts.
If you want to lose weight, start by tracking what you are eating. Once you have started tracking, you can see what you need to take out. Another goal of mine is to make time for myself and relax. I am going to try by scheduling relax time and massages. If you have big goals for 2017, break it down by months, and then go week by week to help you. Another goal of mine is to be close and keep a close relationship with The Lord. So, to do this I would like to join a Bible study.
Sometimes resolutions and goals are there at the beginning of January and we forget by February or March. To help you keep on track, I would recommend a planner. Here are some good ones –Tools4Wisdom Planner 2017 Calendar (8.5 x 11 Hardcover) or InnerGuide 2017 Goal & Success Planner – Increase Motivation, Productivity & Happiness. Weekly & Monthly Organizer, Appointment Book & Journal (Jan – Dec) Hard Cover. These planners help you map out your goals and then help you take it step by step – week by week.
I hope I gave you some ideas on what goals to set and how to see them through in 2017. If you need any help, just comment below or email me. I hope ya’ll have a Happy New Year!
